Nowadays Aadhaar card is becoming one of the most important mandatory document for most of the forms. It serves as the best identity proof for most of the forms because of sensitive identity data collected like the finger print, the image of the person and their eyes. Now even the government has made it mandatory for everyone to link their Aadhaar card with their PAN card if they plan to file their income tax. This unique 12-digit government identification number is issued by Unique Identification Authority of India on behalf of the Indian government.
It is very common for every individual to forget their 12-digit unique Aadhaar card number and even sometimes, they miss their own Aadhaar card issued by the government. It is a natural human habit and we can’t do anything about this. So if you are in a situation where you lost your Aadhaar card or forgot your 12-digit unique Aadhaar card number, then you are at the right place. Here in this article, I’m going to tell you guys how to download a copy of your Aadhar card from online.
One good thing about Aadhaar is that it is a digital identity proof, that is, one can even download this Aadhaar card from the official website UIDAI. Follow the following steps one by one carefully to download your Aadhar card copy.
Generally, for getting/downloading a copy of your Aadhaar card from UIDAI website, you need some details like
- Aadhaar number/UID number(which you can easily find by seeing enrolment form) or
- Enrolment ID(which you can easily find by seeing enrolment form) or
- Mobile number associated with that particular Aadhar card.
Getting Your Aadhaar Card Number
For finding the Aadhaar number, follow the following steps:
- Go to UIDAI website.
- You will see the following image on your screen:
- Enter your Full name which should be as same as the one which you used while enrolling for Aadhaar card.
- Enter either your active email id or active mobile number or even both for better options.
- Then enter the security captcha code by seeing the captcha displayed on your screen.
- Then click on “Send One Time Password” button.
- After clicking that button, you will receive a one time password(OTP) either in the email address or the mobile number which you gave recently. (Both the email address and mobile number should be same as the one that you gave when registering for the first time.)
- Enter that OTP in the next box and click on that “Verify OTP” button.
- After all this, you will receive your Aadhaar card number either via SMS or email.
Downloading Your Aadhaar Card Copy
Once you have your Aadhaar card number, now you can easily download a copy of your Aadhaar card by following the simple steps which are as follows:
- Go to the official E-Aadhaar UIDAI Website.
- You will see the following image on your screen:
- Now select Aadhaar radio button in that window. If you have enrollment ID, then you can even choose that button.
- Now enter Aadhaar number/Enrollment No, Full name, PIN code of your home address in that window.
- Enter the captcha into the box by seeing the image and also the registered mobile number.
- Click on “Get One Time Password” button.
- If you don’t receive OPT within some minutes, then click on “Resend One Time Password”.
- Enter the OTP which you received via SMS into that box and click on “Validate & Download” button.
Voila!!! That’s it… You downloaded a copy of your Aadhaar card. This downloaded file is password protected one and the password is nothing but the PIN code of your residential address. I hope that this article will help you download a copy of your Aadhaar card successfully.
