She has successfully concluded India’s long wait for an Olympic medal with a bronze medal in the 58kg category at the Rio Games after her strong comeback in the final moments against Kyrgyzstan’s Aisuluu Tynybekova. She has bagged the victory!!!
Nothing can bring the greater joy than your country’s name shines and Sakshi has exactly done that. She has made the history by being the first woman wrestler from India to bag an Olympic medal. Wishes are coming for her great victory from every corner of the world. She has made India proud; she has made all her brothers proud.

The 23-year-old is from Rohtak, is the fourth female athlete ever to win an Olympic medal. After her win, Sakshi said,
“This is the first time that a medal has come for women. It’s a success of my 12 years of dedication. My hard work has succeeded”
Sakshi’s win is a loud answer to those who think a woman cannot wrestle. Her name now will be taken with the earlier bronze medal winners like Yogeshwar Dutt and Sushil Kumar. She has become a symbol for the women empowerment.

Sakshi’s victory lifts the mood of the nation from the heartbreak of an unfortunate injury to Vinesh in the women’s 48kg Freestyle category which left her out of the competition. Sakshi’s win is indeed the whole nations’ win. She is now likely to see her nominated for the country’s highest sporting honor – Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna.
